The Myth of the Mental Health System

Making Myself Clear
I. The idea that the mental health system is providing reliable & adequate help to the masses is nothing more than a myth, and that is the only thing I am tasked with proving.
II. This website is currently the only way to experience The Myth of the Mental Health System in its entirety. Only two chapters were given full video releases. A video was planned for all thirteen chapters but eventually dropped due to circumstance and workload. To navigate and access other parts of the site, use the 3 line menu button at the top. (This paragraph is the only one of Myth to receive changes after initial publishing date.)
III. The Myth of the Mental Health System is extremely long. You will not finish it in a day, likely not even two. Pace yourself accordingly. If the length intimidates you, understand that each chapter is self contained. They’re simply strung together in a way that makes a linear narrative, as Myth was written using a concept album format.
IV. I encourage everyone to share The Myth of the Mental Health System, and the website specifically instead of the videos; unless the space you’re sharing it in would be much more receptive to being linked a video instead. I also strongly advise the sharing of individual chapters rather than Myth as a whole when appropriate.
V. To my actual fans, thank you for giving me the confidence to put this out and the support to stay positive. I’m also grateful that you gave me the ability to share my work with someone who was really there at any point in time. I remember the days when I’d upload something and have no one watching. I also want to thank The Merry Man specifically. Your comment single-handedly stopped me from scrapping Myth.
VI. All sources used in The Myth of the Mental Health System are available here.
VII. The Myth of the Mental Health System contains zero dramatizing or exaggeration. If I said it, I meant it, with the only exceptions being a few moments of extreme sarcasm.
VIII. While the nature of The Myth of the Mental Health System is intense, it does not encourage or celebrate harassment or violence of any kind towards any one individual, group, or organization. Nor does it contain any threats. Myth is simply self expression, and not an incitement of anything that violates the safety of others.
IX. In the context of self expression towards members of the system, there are no identifiable individuals in this body of work. Meaning it is impossible to know exactly who it is I’m speaking about. Meaning none of you have a case.

X. The thoughts expressed in this body of work are my own. I only speak for myself. This means that any & all individuals who’ve contributed to The Myth of the Mental Health System should be viewed as their own people with their own beliefs—some of which may not be in alignment with what I express.
XI. The United States of America is the backdrop to any systemic or societal related issue I discuss. This absolutely does not mean the things discussed are exclusive to America, its culture, or even western culture, but it’s still important to clarify. This backdrop matters except for when it doesn’t.
XII. When relevant, imagine these three scenarios;
Scenario I: We are looking at the exact same photo, but I’m saying it’s of a scorpion and you’re saying it’s of a spider—because I legitimately see a scorpion and because you legitimately see a spider. Meaning it’s not that we perceive things the same way but are coming to different conclusions, it’s that we inherently aren’t perceiving things the same way at all to begin with.
Scenario II: We are looking at the exact same photo. We both see a scorpion. I say the pose it’s in suggests it’s about to attack, you say the pose it’s in suggests it’s about to flee. Meaning we perceive the subject to be the same thing but are inherently interpreting it differently.
Scenario III: We are looking at the exact same photo. We both see a scorpion about to attack. I think it’s a remarkable & striking photo, you think it’s a vile & haunting one. Meaning we both perceive & interpret the subject the same way, but are inherently coming to different conclusions about it.
If you can understand everything I just painted for you and its purpose, then you should be able to comprehend the rest of this material.
